Baggage Allowance form your Airlines

When you have to leave for a journey, be it small or long distances, you are always agitated, especially if you are not an expert and you are not very familiar with what to bring and above all how to organize your suitcase.

Regardless of the destination chosen, we must always pay attention to the measures and the various limitations that the airlines impose with regard to the types of baggage allowed. It starts from a minimum of 23 kg per suitcase for the hold (also called baggage to be registered) and up to a maximum of about 10 kg for the hand one.

Hold baggage is the baggage where clothes and other secondary things usually reside. It is loaded in the hold of the aircraft and therefore, once embarked; we will no longer have the possibility of having it at hand until it reaches its destination.

Most airlines in the world have standard baggage measures that are usually very similar to each other to make life easier for passengers. Below we propose the baggage measurements of the major airlines, broken down by hand luggage and economy class hold. It was preferred to make a list in alphabetical order to simplify the search and, for a good understanding. Since there are different rates and laws that change every year, the baggage allowances are calculated with the ticket issued a few days ago.

KLM

Hand luggage: perhaps one of the least restrictive companies with regard to the weight of hand luggage: the KLM in fact allows you to carry a suitcase of 55 x 25 x 35 cm with a maximum weight of 12 kg (16 lbs).

Hold baggage: 1 piece of 23 Kg with maximum total measures of 158 cm (62 inches).

Lufthansa

Hand luggage: a piece with maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 23 cm and cannot exceed 8 kg. Folding clothes hangers are excluded. The clothing case is considered hand luggage up to a size of 57 cm x 54 cm x 15 cm. Heavy hand luggage must always be stored under the seat in front of the passenger.

Baggage in the hold: 1 package of 23 Kg with maximum total measures of 158 cm (width + height + depth).
